Supporting Explanation

Candidates use technology in their own learning process and to change their current educational practice. They use technology to gather, sort, and analyze information needed for their own research projects and to communicate and collaborate effectively with other professionals. Candidates use tools such as databases and spreadsheets for sorting, compiling, and analyzing data gathered from a variety of sources. They use presentation tools in a networked environment for sharing information in multiple professional formats.

So What? (Reflection)

 There are so many technological resources out there, and it is important to help utilize them for professional growth productivity.  had developed a basic knowledge of how to create different things using the programs found on my computer However, during a technology course at Maryville College, I learned that this was only a fraction of the technological possiblities I had to increase my productivity, professional growth, and learning enhancement. I created a Google site which researched Web 2.0 tools in general and also looked specifically at three Web 2.0 tools that can be used in the classroom. With each of these tools I was able describe the benefits it could have to different content areas and examples of its eduational use. It also included tutorials to assist other professionals that come to my site and are wanting to use the tool.  I also created a Google Earth Voicethread. Other professieonals can view this to help them utilize this tool and collaboration options are also available.

Now What? (Direction)

One of the most important things to remember is that technology is always changing. The technology that I use now for your educational practice and collaboration with professionals may not be the ones that I will use one month from now. Therefore, it is important for me to continue to use technology to gather evidenence and communicate with others on a continuous basis to ensure that I am staying up to date. By doing this, I will be able to use the most effective technological resources for professional growth and productivity.
